About Us

My Place Home for the
Homeless, Inc. (MPH) was founded in 2008 by Reverend Reginald E. Kerr and his wife, Sarah.

Since 2008, we have assisted disadvantaged and underserved populations regain stable housing, providing emergency shelter, food, clothing, and establish linkage to other community resources including, health care and mental health care, job training, transportation, and legal aid.

Our Mission

With the support of our dedicated staff, volunteers, and beloved community partners, westrive to reduce the growing epidemic of housing insecurity throughout Western New York

Our Vision

We desire to expand our services to various low-income communities across the United States with high rates of homelessness to be a force of change as we encourage self-sustainability and possibilities for a better future

Community

Our clients are our neighbors, our friends, and an integral part of our community, and we treat them as such. Minority and woman led, add veteran led organization located on the East Side of Buffalo, we are all too familiar with the struggles of communities who are historically and systemically disenfranchised and discriminated against. We are deeply committed to community partnerships with like-minded businesses and organizations that share our vision of a more equitable Buffalo where every individual receives the resources they deserve.

Passion

Known as the “City of Good Neighbors,” Buffalo inspires us. Our passion for serving and uplifting the community drives every effort we make to spread love, justice, and economic equity. We live out our values every day by ensuring that our leadership and employees eflect the communities we support. We offer employment opportunities to former residents of our shelter to ensure the assistance we provide reflects the lived experience of individuals facing homelessness.

Intention

Every hour, every volunteer, and every resource is dedicated to the greater good. Guided by compassion and a service mindset, we strive to meet people where they are and help them move toward stability.
